Starting Off..

Hi guys,
I've never written anything like this since English GCSE (and even that was probably awful), so bear with me if I'm a little rusty. So to start off I'll explain what I'll be writing about for the next 5 months!
In May this year I went to what I though would be another boring assembly at school, but it turned out to be one that will probably change my life completely. A lady gave a talk on a charity called Project Trust, a charity that specialises in sending young adults aged 17-19 on long term volunteering placements all over the globe. I applied as soon as I could, and the next thing I knew I was on a ferry to the Isle of Coll for a selection course. During the week I stayed with a host family and with 3 other awesome girls - Jade, Charlotte and Lauren. The week in Coll consisted of interviews, presentations and lessons that were designed to find out whether Project Trust was right for us and where we should go on our 8 month project.

We finished the week off with a traditional ceilidh which was fab (even though I can't dance to save my life). It was one of the best weeks of my life and I met some truly amazing people!
A few weeks later I received a letter saying I had been selected to go to India for 8 months, teaching English in a rural primary school. I will go with one other girl, who I will meet on the training course in November.
Since the selection couse I have completed my Alevels, and have started my fundraising. I need to raise £4870 for my 8 months in India, which is a huge challenge. Since I started i've realised just how difficult this will be to raise, but I am determined to do it. Thankfully, soon after I was selected I landed a job at Decathlon Sheffield, which will be my main source of fundraising.

Meet the Team!

I have also been selling truffles, making £170 from that so far (photos coming soon) and had 2 facepainting stalls, raising over £200. I've had a lot of help with these from my mum and my boyfriend Harry, who have been fantastic :)
